Last Sunday on our way to church we saw a rocker/glider chair sitting by the garbage (you my have seen it too, it may have been yours once) ... Since my favorite pastime is re-doing furniture, we gave it a look over--and decided it was broken & kinda junky.
So we left it there.
Then while I was sitting in church, I started thinking about it ... and I had a vision. So Yes, I made Jordan drag home yet another chair. That makes 8 chairs in our apartment (4 standard issue tva chairs & 4 that I have redone). My vision was to make the rocking chair and give it to a couple in our ward that is expecting a baby. So thats what I did ... but they don't have space for it. So we still have 8 chairs in our apartment (Don't worry I am posting some on craigslist)
But, Here is the before & after of the baby glider:
I didn't really get a good before picture. ... I had already started sanding and painting when I realized we didn't take one, but you get the idea
& this was the lovely, very 1992 fabric that the cushions were covered in ... gross.
And here is the after...
I used vintage fabric that a sweet elderly lady gave me at a yard sale in Laie a few months ago & yellow paint from a previous project. So all I had to buy was a couple buttons & some ric rac. I love the vintage, rustic look ... too bad we don't have a nursery to decorate.
If you know anyone who might need a rocking chair let me know.

I am in awe at your talent! =) I love the little details!
I am always impressed by your creativity. I would have never thought to drag any of those chairs out of the dumpster, but I have loved every single one of them. Good job!
adorable! I love it. don't have any use for it though. :)
