Ugh ... I realize this is all my fault, but I dont think that I am going to do Priceline again.

Temple Trip
There is a break in between this semester and spring term so I was thinking that we could go to Kona for a needed break and go to the temple (since ours is closed for renovation & I've only been twice). So I talked to Jordan about it this morning and he thought it sounded like a good idea, So at work I got on priceline.com just to see if we could get a nice hotel for really cheap. So I entered $95 for a resort (I thought it was a long shot) But they took it! …So I was all excited. And then AFTER I already booked it I checked the temple schedule and they are closed for maintenance during the time we will be there. We’ve called the hotel, priceline, and my credit card … NO CANCELING OR MOVING THE DATES ALLOWED! So I guess we are Big Island Bound … but our temple trip has turned into a no temple trip for us.

MTV Cribs: Part 2
So as you know (from this blog entry) we have a very quaint apartment. So we have been trying to do some home improvements on our very limited budget (and we aren't allowed to paint) So... Here is what I have came up with:

Potterybarn has this cool picture wall posted on their site and there are lots of other picture walls in the blog world ... but I can't afford 15 Potterybarn picture frames So.... Jordan got a TON of wooden picture frames for free from his work. Some frames had glass & mats and some had neither. So I painted them all a bunch of random bright colors (I figured we are in Hawaii so we might has well have a fun, bright home) and we now have our own brighter version of the pb picture wall.
I also painted some of the frames black and hung them on a separate wall...
Project 2: The library at school gives away its rejected books, every once and awhile ... so Jordan picked up some of the fun, colorful ones and we were able to use them to fill an empty shelf in our entertainment stand.
If you notice the last book on the right side is actually a bookend! I hacksawed through the book and hot-glued it back together.... It took A LONG time for me to saw through the entire book.
I also ripped some of the pages out of a couple of the books and modge-podged them on to a mat.
AND ... I finally did this project I blogged about earlier.
Now our small, white, cinderblock apartment has some color on the walls. More projects are coming! My mother in law sent me some awesome magazines with great ideas in them ... I just got to find the time! If you know of any cool, fun, cheap projects send them my way!

Personal Library Kit
I am not a big book collector, but for some reason I really like card catalogs (remember this blog entry) and library supplies. But for those of you who are the librarian type and have a problem getting your books back try getting organized with this personal library kit ($24 dollars @ Fredflare.com)

1. Jordan is really motivated to study for his CPA exam and take it before he starts working full time and I am somewhat motivated.
2. I got a free piggy bank
3. As of February 20, 2009 The Flake Family will never return to Walmart, We have officially boycotted it
P.S. I know the picture is really fuzzy, but check out Jordan's glasses ... Yes, he wore them all night.
Valentines Day
Okay I realize that Valentines was a week ago but here is a report of our Celebrations ... The night before valentines we went to dinner and picked up my valentines present (a new sewing machine since mine is in Idaho. Then Valentines morning I had this card/wood slab, lots of candy, and a book for Jordan ...

Then since we are at the farm we stopped by and visited the piglets (Jordan still wants to buy one)

The water was freezing cold and a little merky but we got in anyways ...
Then we went to our ward service project at the farm and pulled weeds and harvested the largest carrots I have EVER seen.
After the service project we had a BBQ with our ward. It has been fun to get to know the people in our ward. Then we were hoping to get to go to the beach, but it was a little overcast & really windy, so we went to Waimea Falls. Its a small hike/walk to a waterfall. It was a lot of fun. In the two years that I have been here I have driven by many time but never taken the time to do the hike.
I love my valentine!

Pay it Forward
So, here's how this game works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or be lazy and copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Send me an email with your address, to: meagancw@byuh.edu
I can't wait to get my gift from Cortney!

I can't wait to get these sandals. According to Target.com, they will be arriving in stores in 2 to 6 weeks. If the rainbow colors are too much for you they have brown, gold, and white ones, which are also very cute! I love target. Only 24 days 'til it opens in Hawaii!

Martin + Osa
Maybe I am behind the times, but did you know that American Eagle brand has a more mature, higher-end, sister store called Martin + Osa?

be mine?
Isn't it nice to have a valentine? I am excited to spend valentines day with my sweet husband.
This is us last year on Valentine's day:
My roommate Marni and I made heart shaped rice krispy treats and sneak attacked Jordan in the library at school. I am still searching for the perfect card/gift for this year. I thought I would share what I have found so far, there are lots of cute/creative/funny valentine card options on etsy ...
I wish I had our typewriter in Hawaii and I would make a few of these (found via ohhellofriend):
it probably wouldn't be too hard to make this yourself... or you can buy it for $8 from fred flare:

And last but not least, what valentine wouldn't love an unforgetable magic bean from magicbeanforyou.com:
