Opa!

Today, we took a break from the usual routine and went to the 29th annual Greek Festival in Honolulu.
Jordan was hoping to find some authentic Greek people to speak Greek with.
We mostly found drunk white people who wish they were Greek and Asians.
Jordan spoke just as much Chinese as he did Greek. Oh well
This guy looked legit ... but he only knew three Greek words.
He told Jordan that his parents are from Greece, but he is "chop suey" ...
We ate a semi-authentic Gyro.
Jordan said it wasn't greasy enough.

And then we enjoyed watching Greek dancing and listening to Greek music ...
It was a very interesting day.
I think that Jordan left a little disappointed that there wasn't more Greek people to talk to.
The only guy that he found that spoke Greek stopped talking to him after he found out that he was a missionary for the LDS church in Greece (similar to what he experienced daily on his mission). I guess we will just have to travel to Greece to find someone for Jordan to talk to :)

Hmm... I guess I should have tried to learn a bit more before asking questions...is that the same Jake who was sent to jail his first week in Greece? Again thanks for coming by. Sorry it seemed rushed...I had to run errands for RS. But we'll be in touch ;)

HI! I stumbled upon your blog from Nathan's. We went to that Greek Festival once! Haha I was wondering how many of them were actually Greek too. Your blog is fun to read!
