Punchbowl Cemetery, in Honolulu
Saturday Jordan and a friend from our ward got up early to go surf at Goat Island & I slept in :) Then we headed to Sunset beach with Marni & Justin and met up with some friends from our ward. They have a kayak that they were kind enough to share with us and Jordan & Justin had a great time trying to catch waves in it. I spent most of the day on the beach talking & relaxing. It was a beautiful day .... we stayed at the beach for about 4 hours.
Sunday we of course caught up on some sleep and went to church. I got a new calling ... the Primary Secretary. The funny thing is there are only 3 kids in the whole primary & about 8 adults serving in the primary. So it should be interesting. I am kind of bummed that I won't be able to go to Sunday school with Jordan but I guess at least I can munch on the nursery treats!
Monday some couples from our ward rented paddle boards from Surf & Sea and we took them to Sunset. Ever since I saw Kate Hudson doing it in People magazine, I have always wanted to try it. It has become pretty popular and there are always a few people out in the ocean on paddle boards, it has always looked pretty relaxing, fun, and simple ... so I thought I might enjoy it but it is a lot harder than it looks. We all had a lot of fun trying it out. By the end of the day the boys were catching waves on it.

I also attempted to surf. I am not good at all. I am afraid to go where there are a bunch of people cause I don't want to crash into anyone. So we were having a hard time getting good waves ... but it was fun to be out in the ocean and play with Jordan. We saw A TON of sea turtles while we were out in the water. We spent 8 hours on the beach on Saturday ... that's like a full time job!
So after 12 hours on the beach this weekend we are both tired, sore, and look like this guy ....

We had a great holiday weekend & hope everyone had a very Happy Memorial Day!
