Before/After

When I called Jessica on her Birthday (Happy Birthday Jessica) she demanded that I post something new on my blog. Nothing really exciting has been happening for in our lives, just Jordan's midterms and me working (working=surfing the Internet while getting paid). So to satisfy Jessica's demand for a new post I thought I would share my latest Goal: Learn the Art of Re-Upholstery and other Furniture Makeovers.

Anthropologie is probably one of my favorite sites to look at ... They always have the most unique, cute, expensive things there. For example, they have a lot of cool furniture! Chairs and couches with fun, bright, exciting patterns that are thousands of dollars, Like the one below. And Design*Sponge is probably one of my favorite blogs to look at .... They have creative people creating anthropologie like creations from random old furniture, for a fraction of the price. (love it!)

So anyways I have been reading up on upholstery-how to's and I have made a goal. Once we have a house or larger apartment back on the mainland I am going to 1) Go to yard sales and start craigslisting for old cheap furniture 2) I am going to make it awesome! (My mom is already really good at this so I figure it's in my genes)
I've already began making this goal a reality on a very small scale.... Last Friday we went and picked up the mirror that I found on Craigslist for $10 ... I will be painting the frame soon, its the perfect addition to our bedroom!

I was recently surfing through the website for some inspiration...and I'm using a pattern of theirs to paint a mural on our wall. =) I love your ideas! Wish we could go yard-sale shopping together.

I've done this many a time. Only with paint. I would love to learn how to do upolstery. (SP?) Uncle Matt does that. Or did that. Not sure now...

I am inspired. Going to look for a class right now.
